The Heart of Gold program raises awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research. It is the perfect community service project for your Girl Scout troop! It’s fun, easy to do, and gives scouts an opportunity to gain leadership experience while participating in a community service project that makes a difference.
In 2018 we raised enough money to fund a new neuroblastoma clinical trial. We can do even more this year with your help!
Request a FREE Heart of Gold kit using the form on this page and we’ll send you everything you need to participate in the Heart of Gold Program. Your kit will include a t-shirt and bracelet for you, as well as enough paper gold hearts for your entire troop.
Your goal is to get your fellow scouts to decorate a gold heart for pediatric cancer research. They can then ask their family and friends to donate $1 or $2 to sponsor their heart. You can also set up a fundraising page for your troop to easily spread the word and keep track of your fundraising efforts. Set a goal on your page, then share it on social media and with everyone who is affiliated with your troop.
Many groups will take a photo to share on the Whip Pediatric Cancer Facebook page and their team page. Feel free to get creative and have fun!
“I am proud to be a part of something so great, and honored to be able to spread childhood cancer awareness in such a positive way thanks to the Heart of Gold program! Thank you for starting this, our school loved it! Such a great idea!”
COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS
It’s a fun & easy way to earn community service hours. We can even provide a letter if requested.
LEADERSHIP & NETWORKING EXPERIENCE
Scouts can use their leadership and networking skills to support an important cause.
IT’S FOR A GREAT CAUSE
100% of funds raised go to pediatric cancer research.
You can make a difference in the lives of kids who are just like your scouts. By raising awareness and funds for research, you and your troop will bring us one step closer to ending childhood cancer.
