What is Skate for Gold?

Ever since I was a little girl, hockey has been a part of my life. My dad and brother have played their whole lives, and I grew up at the rink as a proud hockey sister. Over time, my family became close with the owners of the Clark Gillies Arena because of how much time we spent there. We knew we wanted to do something meaningful together—and that’s how our partnership began.

With the help of hockey players, we created unforgettable experiences for children with cancer and their siblings. Parents who once feared their child might never walk again were able to watch them lace up skates and step onto the ice, supported by pros who gave them a day of joy, courage, and hope.

We are so grateful to our hockey community for standing with us in the fight against pediatric cancer over the years. Now, we’re excited to continue that tradition with the Flexible Arena, bringing more hockey-inspired fundraisers to life and making an even bigger impact for kids and families.
