Why Unicorns?
We chose unicorns because they remind children that being different can still be beautiful.
Children with cancer often feel set apart from the world around them. Their days may look different because of treatment, appointments, ports, medicine, hair loss, scars, or the quiet courage they are asked to carry far too soon. UniPort was created to remind each child that different does not mean less, broken, or alone.
Like unicorns, these children are rare, radiant, brave, and one of a kind. Unicorns bring color, wonder, and sparkle into spaces that can feel scary or clinical. They help turn “different” into something powerful, a symbol of hope, strength, and magic that every child deserves to feel, especially on the hardest days.

“Uni” honors the unicorn: rare, radiant, magical, and beautifully different. It also means one: one gentle access point that helps nurses reach a child’s port without fully undressing them.
