Blakes Big Reputation
Blake has always had a love for two very special things: Taylor Swift’s Reputation era and her American Girl dolls.
For Blake, music and imagination became a place where she could escape, dream, and feel like herself—especially during the hardest moments of her cancer journey. Taylor Swift’s music, particularly the powerful and fearless energy of the Reputation album, meant so much to her. It made her feel strong, confident, and seen.
One of the most beautiful parts of Taylor Swift’s shows is when she chooses dancers and performers who represent all the different people in the crowd. It’s her way of making sure everyone watching feels included, represented, and part of something bigger.
That idea inspired something incredibly special for Blake.
Blake loved her American Girl dolls, and like many kids going through treatment, she also experienced the visible changes that come with fighting cancer—especially losing her hair. Instead of hiding from that reality, Blake embraced it in the most beautiful way.
Together, we created matching outfits for Blake and her doll, and both of them proudly had matching bald heads. It wasn’t about pretending things were different—it was about showing that Blake was perfect exactly as she was.
Just like Taylor Swift’s dancers represent the fans in the crowd, this moment was about representation for Blake.
Her doll didn’t just look like a toy anymore. It looked like her—strong, brave, and beautiful. Seeing herself reflected in something she loved gave Blake a moment of empowerment and joy in the middle of an incredibly difficult journey.
When Blake held her doll, dressed the same as her and sharing the same bald head, it was more than just a creative idea. It was a powerful reminder that she was seen, she was represented, and she was never alone.
Moments like these show how important representation can be for children facing cancer. When a child can see themselves reflected in the world around them—even in something as simple as a doll—it can bring confidence, comfort, and a sense of belonging.
Blake reminded us that bravery can look like many things. Sometimes it looks like a little girl standing tall, wearing her Reputation-inspired outfit, holding a doll that looks just like her, and owning her story with courage.
Because everyone deserves to see themselves represented—even the strongest little fighters like Blake.
