Each dress is designed with easy front access, so treatment can feel less stressful and more dignified. The zipper detail allows care teams to reach the port while the child stays covered, comfortable, and dressed in something that feels special.

Why Unicorns?

We chose unicorns because they remind children that being different can still be beautiful.

Children with cancer often feel set apart from the world around them. Their days may look different because of treatment, appointments, ports, medicine, hair loss, scars, or the quiet courage they are asked to carry far too soon. Uni-Port was created to remind each child that different does not mean less, broken, or alone.

Like unicorns, these children are rare, radiant, brave, and one of a kind. Unicorns bring color, wonder, and sparkle into spaces that can feel scary or clinical. They help turn “different” into something powerful — a symbol of hope, strength, and magic that every child deserves to feel, especially on the hardest days.

The Zipper Fairy

We are so honored to be teaming up with Brittany and her mobile seamstress service B. Mee for the Uniport Program. When we approached Brittany to ask if she would be interested in being part of this project, she didn’t hesitate for a moment. She truly has a heart of gold, and we are so grateful to have her help bring the Uniport Program to life.

Brittany will be adding the zippers to each dress, helping make them more comfortable, functional, and easy to wear. Her skill, kindness, and willingness to serve are such a meaningful part of this project.
