Bringing a Little Bit of Home to Kenzie

When Kenzie had to leave home for treatment, everything familiar was suddenly miles away:

  • Her bed.
  • Her room.
  • Her comfort.

Being far from home while fighting cancer adds a whole different layer to an already overwhelming journey. Long hospital days are hard enough, but not having your own space to return to makes it even heavier.

So we wanted to change that.

We secured a hotel room close to the hospital so Kenzie and her family could stay nearby, easing the daily back-and-forth and giving them one less thing to worry about. But we didn’t want it to feel like just a hotel. We wanted it to feel like home.

Before she was discharged, we got to work adding:

  • Decorations.
  • Personal touches.
  • Warm details that said, “This space is yours.”

We transformed that simple room into something welcoming and joyful—a place where she could rest, breathe, and feel celebrated.

And when Kenzie walked in after being discharged from the hospital?

Surprise.

Her face said it all. After days filled with machines and monitors, she walked into:

  • Color.
  • Love.
  • A space designed just for her.

It wasn’t just a decorated room; it was a reminder that she is supported, that she is thought of, and that even miles away from home, she is not alone.

Because sometimes healing starts with a soft place to land. And for Kenzie, we were honored to help create that landing place.
