Meeting with Dr Kung
Today was an unforgettable day.

I had the honor of meeting with Dr. Andrew Kung, Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Memorial Sloan Kettering, and Dr. Jess Black, doctor and researcher at MSK. I shared my story, Tessa’s story, and my
why MSK
.
With tears in my eyes, I spoke about how my mom’s life was saved by the very research done at MSK, and how losing my sweet Tessa has fueled my drive to fund research in her honor.
For years, I’ve been donating to both quality of life support for families as well as research funding for the future. Today made everything clear:
Quality of life supports the todays. Research creates the tomorrows.
I am humbled and beyond honored to announce that going forward, 100% of the proceeds raised by Whip Pediatric Cancer will go directly to funding a groundbreaking Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T cell therapy. This promising treatment, showing success in neuroblastoma, sarcomas, and brain cancers—offers kids a less toxic option and, most importantly, the chance at life. All of this is being done in Tessa’s name.
But we can’t do it without you. We need passionate donors, families, and communities to get involved:
•Sign up for the Heart of Gold Program, where kids help kids by raising funds in schools with a free kit. https://whippediatriccancer.org/heart-of-gold/
Here’s an article from LI Patch, written by Michael DeSantis https://patch.com/…/li-cancer-charity-asks-schools…
•Organize a Facebook or birthday fundraiser, especially during September, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
•Host a lemonade stand, bracelet sale, or any creative fundraiser.
•Plan a community event or gala.
Every dollar raised will go straight to funding Dr. Kung’s trial and bringing it into the clinic. Because when the government allocates only 4% of cancer funding to pediatric research, it falls on organizations like Whip Pediatric Cancer, and people like you to bridge the gap.
I am truly honored, humbled, and blessed for this opportunity to stand hand-in-hand with brilliant researchers, and to use this platform to fuel change. Together, we can give children not just more todays, but more tomorrows.
Love you all, and love you #memorialsloankettering
